Abhijeet to perform at a gender equality event and irony just shot itself in the face

Abhijeet's vile Twitter feed is well known, and that's why the universe has come full circle for him to perform at an event for gender equality

Former-Twitter celebrity best known for championing the cause of the foot-in-the-mouth syndrome, and repeatedly shouting – ‘I’ve unfriended Shah Rukh Khan’ – Abhijeet Bhattacharya will be performing live at a half marathon being organised for gender equality, and to stop crimes against women.

Oh, he used to be a singer too…did I forget to mention that? Yeah, he was a playback singer in the 90s and then he became the unofficial spokesperson of everything wrong.

This is the man who proudly tweeted this garbage:

This was during the raging and totally important debate during Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s release, of whether or not Pakistani actors should be allowed in Bollywood.

But it isn’t just men he harasses, Abhijeet has a history of abusing women online.

Abhijeet was also involved in a molestation case with an FIR filed against the singer in Mumbai’s Oshiwara police station.

To the point that his account was suspended in May last year, after it was reported for passing lewd comments and attacking women…too many times.

Let’s not even get into his free-flowing patriotism which he thought was anything ‘anti-Pakistan’ or with a communal tangent.

So what happens when a man with views like that, performs at an event meant to recognise that both genders are equal? A whole lot of inanity probably. Get that tub of popcorn ready. Looks like we’re set for some A-grade entertainment.
