Aamir Khan's on screen daughter Sanya Malhotra admitted that she never was his fan but developed that feeling .over the shooting of Dangal

Dangal has given cine buffs two extremely talented actresses- Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Sheikh. The on-screen Phogat sisters have been at the receiving end of lauds and love ever since the movie released on 23 December. They have been hailed as stars in the making and rightly so. But do you know that silver screen’s Babita Phogat was not an Aamir Khan fan but that of Kangana Ranaut before she signed the movie.

In fact, Sanya thought it was a Kangana Ranaut movie which she auditioned for. But, when she was in Delhi to surprise her mother, Sanya got a call that she has been selected and has to meet Aamir Khan.

Speaking to a leading daily, Sanya confessed of the same and added she wasn’t star struck on meeting the Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood. Sanya revealed that Aamir was in his Mahavir Singh Phogat look during their first meeting and that Fatima and herself clicked pictures with him later in the day.

Sanya told she became Aamir’s fan after working with him. Heaping praises on Aamir, Sanya said Aamir is an institution and one could learn a lot from him just by being in his company. The young actress accepted that just by seeing Aamir work, she learnt a lot about film-making, editing, post-production and so much more.

Aamir’s on-screen daughter Sanya also said she became a better person after working with him in Dangal. She accepted feeling overwhelmed after the new found stardom.

I feel like a star while signing autographs.

Speaking about the days when she wasn’t a star and how she landed a role, Sanya said:

I gave many auditions, yet I was jobless for three to four months. Finally, I got an ad and was paid Rs 5000. It felt good but the experience was bad. I did other ads and after a year, casting director Mukesh Chhabra called me for an audition

Talking about the toughest part of Dangal, Sanya added:

The wrestling training was tough and our bodies used to ache a lot. It’s a contact sport, so I learnt about some muscles in my body, I didn’t know I had.
