Punjab Assembly Election Results 2017 Live Updates: Congress' Navjot Singh Sidhu leads in Amritsar East

Will the Congress manage to return to political relevance or will AAP take away the seats, remains to be seen tll the final verdict is out

After more than a month of voting, election results are today being counted in five states – Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand. Though it was expected that Aam Aadmi Party might win in Punjab, the counting tells a different story altogether. The Congress is seen to have its best chance in months to win Punjab, even though it has Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party closely following it.

Will the Congress manage to return to political relevance or will AAP take away the seats remains to be seen. Meanwhile, we bring to you the major constituencies from Punjab and their respective candidates:

Pathankot:

Amritsar East: 

The much controversial Navjot Singh Sidhu from Congress is leading from his constituency.

Amritsar North:

Sunil Dutt from Congress is leading from here

Amritsar Central:

Om Prakash Soni from Congress is leading

Amritsar South:

Inderbir Singh Nijjar from AAP is leading from here
