Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is set to launch its flagship smartphone OnePlus 5 at a global launch event on June 20, 2017. The phone is a successor to OnePlus 3T, which the company unveiled in November last year and it will be launched in India at a special event in Mumbai on June 22, 2017. OnePlus 5 will be available in India exclusively via Amazon India.

How can I watch the global launch event of OnePlus 5?
The global launch of OnePlus 5 will take place at 12 PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). However, if you are in India, you can watch the event via the YouTube channel of OnePlus at 9:30 PM on June 20, 2017. Interested users can also set a reminder of the global launch event on YouTube.

When will OnePlus 5 go on sale in India?
As mentioned earlier, OnePlus 5 will be launched in India at 2 PM at a special event in Mumbai on June 22, 2017. The phone will go on sale on Amazon India at 4:30 PM on Thursday.The phone will also be available via OnePlus India Store.

What are the technical specifications of OnePlus 5?
OnePlus 5 has been a subject of speculations for a long time and leaks about the details of the smartphone have kept the tech enthusiasts engaged. The specifications of the phone have been listed on two websites.

According to GSM Arena, OnePlus 5 will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC) and it will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and Oxygen OS skin. It will sport a 5.5-inch optic AMOLED full HD display that will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It will be available in two variants– 6GB/8GB RAM and 64/128GB internal memory. In terms of the camera, the phone will sport 16MP dual camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera. The phone will support Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB 3.1 for connectivity and it will be backed by a 3,300 mAh battery.

However, according to Smartprix, the phone will sport 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory. Reports further suggest that the phone will be priced at Rs 36,000, but we will know anything for sure when the company launches the phone in India on Thursday.
