Apple gearing up for a headphones revolution, click here for details

Will Apple launch Bluetooth headphones along with iPhone 7

Ahead of Apple’s iPhone 7 launch on Wednesday, apprehensions about the company launching a new set of Bluetooth headphones are increasing fast.

While there are reports that Apple might ditch its conventional 3.5 mm jack to slim down the new iPhone, rumours suggest that the company will also say goodbye to the standard Bluetooth technology in its new headphones.

According to a new report by KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who happens to have an excellent track record in predicting changes to Apple products, the company is likely to use a home-made ‘Bluetooth-like’ technology to connect with its wireless headphones.

In his note, Kuo says that Apple is likely to use low-power ‘Bluetooth-like communication chip’ for its wireless headphones.

The new technology will cater to the company’s higher requirement for power saving while boosting the sales of its Bluetooth headphones.

Rumour has it that Apple’s wireless headphones will be targeted at the high-end market, while its Beats headphones will cater to the requirements of the mid-range market.

While Apple is unlikely to include its new wireless headphones along with iPhone 7, it is expected that the company will ship a Lightning connector instead of a 3.5 mm jack.

So get ready folks and brace yourself for the next tech revolution of the century!
