After the lungi, here are 5 other Indian items Zara could sell next

Going with the trend, we found a few Indian things that Zara might sell as their own in the name of fashion. Have a look

In January 2018, global fashion brand Zara made headlines for introducing a skirt that looks exactly like a lungi and the internet went crazy. The brand was trolled mercilessly by the Twitterati not only for selling a lungi as a ‘check mini skirt’ but also because it was priced at a whopping Rs 5000. In fact, it seems like people around the world are obsessed with desi things, be it the Chinese chef selling Bhaturas as ‘Scallion Bubble Pancakes’ or Zara selling lungi as a ‘Flowing skirt’.

So, going with the trend, we found a few Indian things that Zara could sell as their own in the name of fashion. Have a look:

1) Silk saree as Wrapron

Silk sarees define India and its rich culture. While we love to wear the 6 yards of royal heritage with pride, Zara might sell it as a wrapron skirt in their Spring/Summer 2018 collection and the prices can make our jaws drop.

2) Dhoti as Harem pant

While harem pants are already a big fashion hit, you never know if the brand will reintroduce it in its staple white colour and call it a ‘cotton harem pant’ with a ‘dry clean only’ label.

3) Kamarbandh as a fancy belt

Kamarbandh is one ornament that has always been worn by Indian women. Since a lot of different avatars have already been introduced in the market, we think Zara is the next to market it as their very own studded waist belt.

4) Mehendi as temporary tattoo

Can you imagine Zara selling mehendi cones under the temporary tattoos category with the caption, ”Made with 100% organic ingredients, it comes in an eco-friendly funnel and you can create your own custom designs that will last for 1-2 weeks.”

5) Last but not the least, how can you forget the traditional mang tika that Zara could sell as a fancy headgear, calling it the new ‘in thing’ to amp up your bohemian look. Right?
