Kamal Haasan's house caught fire in the wee hours today and the actor escaped unhurt. He said his lungs were full of smoke

A fire broke out at the residence of actor Kamal Haasan today at wee hours and the actor confirmed that no one was hurt. While the cause of this accident is still unknown, the actor had to climb downstairs from the third floor of his building. He took to Twitter to thank the staff members for ensuring his safety and confirmed no one was hurt.

Taking to the micro-blogging website, Kamal Haasan wrote, “Thanks to my staff. Escaped a fire at my house. Lungs full of smoke; I climbed down from the third floor. I am safe, No one hurt. Goodnight”. Another of his tweet read, “Thanks for all the love and concern. Now off to sleep. Good night indeed:)”.

The actor recently lost his brother Chandrahasan to a massive cardiac arrest. Kamal had then said that Chandrahasan was more than a brother to him, he was a father figure. “He (Chandrahasan) was a friend. A good teacher. He was not just my brother but he was also like my father. Because of him, I managed to succeed in my life. I did not even fulfil half of the dreams he saw for me,” he tweeted.

Speaking at the meet, Rajinikanth got emotional and said, “Financially, Kamal does not have properties of his own when compared to the actors of this generation.” Rajinikanth added, “Kamal considers K Balachander, Ananthu, Charuhasan and Chandrahasan as his lifelines. Now, three of them have left him. While I have worked with Charu anna in many films, I’ve met Chandrahasan twice. But we’re there for Kamal.”
