Twitter’s comparison of Judwaa 2 with India’s Oscar entry Newton is unfair but brutally hilarious

While it is still to be seen if Judwaa 2 can recreate the magic, but it cannot be denied that the jokes on Twitter comparing it to Newton are way too funny. Take a look.

Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu released today in India, with audience and fans super excited to see the remake of Salman Khan-starrer Judwa (1997). While social media is abuzz with the people’s excitement about the movie since last evening, one completely different group of people cannot stop comparing the slapstick comedy to India’s Oscars entry, Newton, on Twitter. Rajkumar Rao-starrer Newton is set in a Naxal-affected area in the state of Chattisgarh and is a story about an election officer who goes against all odds to make sure elections are held in a fair manner.

Although comparing the two movies seems a totally lopsided affair, Twitter users are having a gala time bashing Judwaa 2 and at the same time juxtaposing the debate with the nepotism angle (the movie’s director is Varun Dhawan’s father David Dhawan). Even though the memes and jokes circulating on Twitter might seem too mean and unfair but we cannot deny one thing: they are too funny.

#Judwaa2 1/5 in every review. earning 50 Cr. #newton 4/5 every review. earning 1 cr. #nepotism Judwaa 2 Ki Dussehra

Though it is still to be seen if the movie can recreate the magic of the original, but considering Varun Dhawan’s huge fan base, it has already been declared a hit.
