Dhinchak Pooja apparently does not earn Rs 50 lakh per month like that viral post claimed

Dhinchak Pooja, the viral sensation who brought to us Selfie Maine Leli Aaj, earns a lot less from Youtube from what we've been hearing.

Dhinchak Pooja may have become a super viral sensation over the last few days (sadly) but the recent reports of her whopping Rs 50 lakh earnings from her YouTube channel are apparently bogus. With super-cringey songs like ‘Selfie Maine Leli Aaj’, ‘Daru’ and ‘Swag Wali Topi’, Dhinchak Pooja became the single most popular person in India that people just love to hate, all the while making her richer by adding on to the number of views on her videos. But exactly how rich are we making her?

Recently, an answer posted on Quora by user Yogesh Maliwad spoke about how the singer might very well be earning Rs 50.48 lakhs per month. Explaining how YouTube earnings work, Maliwad wrote, “Let’s say, if there are 10M views divide it by 1000. You will get 10,000. So Multiply it by 1 or 1.5. You will get earnings. Which would be approx 10000$ – 15000$” before finally deducing that “Dhinchak Pooja earns anywhere between $5,000 to $80,000 per month which converts to about Rs 3.2 lakhs to Rs 50.48 lakhs per month.”

But it’s not just him saying this. As per Social Blade, Dhinchak Pooja earns about $5.5K – $88.4K, which is approximately between Rs 3.5 lacs and Rs 57 lacs.

However, as it turns out, this analysis is flawed. As per Buzzfeed, earnings from a video posted to Youtube are shared between the video platform and the uploader. Even All India Bakchod founder Tanmay Bhat rubbished these new findings stating, “This is not true yaar I know how much money youtube fetches you this is impossible.”

As per Social Blade, AIB earns $2K-37K (Rs 1.28 lacs – Rs 23 lacs) per month which, Bhat has rebutted. He even estimated Dhinchak Pooja’s earnings to be somewhere between $5K-7K, which is round about Rs 3-4 lacs. “So saying she makes Rs 7 lakhs a month or whatever is ridiculous,” he was quoted as saying by Buzzfeed. “And if she does make that much, it’s going to make me want to cry because not even we make close to that much off of YouTube,” he added.

There you have it, folks, Dhinchak Pooja is NOT as rich as you have been hearing so you can all stop being jealous about it.
