Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav, who is facing doping charges and was ruled out from the Rio Olympics 2016, has recorded his statement before the Central Bureau of Investigation in the case on January 14. Narsingh Yadav was tested positive for certain banned substance for about 20 days ahead of Olympics 2016.

According to the media reports, Yadav, in his statement to CBI, has asserted that another wrestler mixed narcotics and banned substances in his meals and drinks to stop his participation from in the Rio Olympics. He also claimed that his meals were spiked with some banned stuff at SAI hostel in Sonepat but failed to provide any substantial evidence to support his allegations.

Yadav also stated that he believes that he will soon be back and will be free from all the allegations. He said,”Hopeful that I will be soon back on the wrestling mat.”

CBI, on the other hand, would now approach Sports Authority of India (SAI) for further clarifications. Yadav was imposed a four-year ban by the court of arbitration (CAS) after which it stopped him from participating in the Rio Olympic Games and also threatened to diminish his entire career.
