When It Comes To Cosmetic Breast Surgery, Tamil Nadu Has Got Its Poor Women Covered

On Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu state health department established a free clinic at the Stanley Medical College and Hospital in Chennai

Now, irrespective of their financial conditions, women of the state of Tamil Nadu will be able to afford cosmetic surgery because apparently, bigger breast sizes are clearly the need of the hour here.

On Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu state health department established a free clinic at the Stanley Medical College and Hospital in Chennai. Earlier, the hospital used to offer cosmetic breast surgeries for cancer patients and now plans to extend their services to poor women who want to increase their breast size.

However, as absurd as it may sound, considering boob-jobs took priority over proper housing and nutrition, there’s a legitimate reason behind the introduction of this new facility.

Reportedly, some women who wished to get breast reduction surgeries after experiencing back-pain will now be able to get the procedure done to alleviate their problems. Additionally, a larger breast size, which leads to a “boost in confidence,” will now be easily accessible to the state’s women.

“Why should beauty treatment not be available to the poor,” said the head of plastic surgery Dr V Ramadevi, adding that the procedure will also be available for men. “There is a psychological benefit. Many girls who have larger breasts don’t like to go out. There is no reason this surgery should be restricted from the poor,” she added.

As per the state’s health minister C Vijaya Baskar, the clinic was launched to ensure that women don’t “opt for dangerous methods or take huge loans” for a breast augmentation surgery.
