While the incident happened on Tuesday, it was only a day later that the school authorities managed to report it to the police. A showcause notice has been issued to the school and the principal has been arrested. Police have sent the hair found on the body of the victim for a DNA test. She will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board, reports ANI.

The incident is a chilling reminder of the Ryan International School murder case where a class II student was allegedly killed by a senior student inside school premises in September. The case sparked an outrage across the country and questions were raised on the lack of adequate security measures across schools. Two days ago, a similar incident happened in Hyderabad where a class 10 student was stabbed by his classmate.
