Watch: Maharashtra biker assaults traffic cop who stopped him from jumping signal

A biker repeatedly slapped a traffic cop in Maharashtra and his fault was that he was only doing his duty. A man in Vasai area of Thane assaulted the policeman as he stopped him for jumping traffic signal. The video of the incident, which took place on Monday, has gone viral now. In the 15-second clip, a biker can be seen slapping the cop twice during an altercation.

The traffic cop Kalu Vitthal stopped the biker who was not wearing the helmet and was travelling in a two-wheeler with his wife and child for jumping a signal at the Parvati Cross area in Vasai. When stopped, the accused got into an argument with the policeman saying that he has not flouted the traffic rules and also slapped him in presence of locals. The man was later controlled by the bystanders and was taken to Manikpur police station.

 As per the Mid- Day, Anil Patil, who is a senior inspector at Manikpur police station said, “We have registered a case under section 186 (Obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions) against him and released him after warning him”.

Sampatrao Patil said an NC has been filed with the police and soon they will file a case against the accused under section 353(assaulting a government servant) as soon as the investigation gets over. Meanwhile, no arrest has been made so far in the case.
