This Malayali RJ was forced to apologise for supporting Muslim women’s flash mob in Kerala

RJ Sooraj has posted a video on Facebook apologising for supporting the flash mob by the Muslim women

It doesn’t take much to invoke the wrath of people on social media. And this time, a Malayali RJ has found himself on the receiving end for supporting Muslim women’s flash mob in Kerala.

What exactly happened?
On December 2, the host of a primetime show on Radio Malayalam – RJ Sooraj – shared a video congratulating the three Muslim girls who danced to the song Jimikki Kammal on the streets Malappuram in Kerala on World AIDS Day. Their performance was a part of a flash mob put together by the District Health Department to create awareness about the disease.

Here’s the video of the flash mob:

After praising the girls for their performance, RJ Sooraj had ridiculed the religious fundamentalists for calling the girls ‘bold’ and for threatening to declare a fatwa against them.

The threats
According to a report by The News Minute, Sooraj received several threats for supporting the Muslims girls. Some even threatened to kill him.

The Apology
Now, the Radio Jockey has shared another video apologising to all his Muslim friends for ignorance. In the video, he shared his apology in Malayalam.

I apologise. I hereby request all my Muslim friends to put this controversy to rest. Please don’t blow this up further and harm the radio station. I had no communal agenda when I put out the first video,” he wrote in Malayalam sharing his apology.
