Pradyuman murder case: CBI accuses Gurugram Police of destroying evidence; here’s what has happened so far

The Class XI student has reportedly confessed that he had exam phobia and that he wanted to postpone the exam

Pradyuman Thakur murder case took a fresh turn as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the nodal agency in charge of investigating the case, allegedly accused Gurugram Police of destroying vital evidence in the case.

In a case built by the Gurugram Police, the department had alleged that the bus conductor Ashok Kumar had taken the knife from the toolkit of the bus and carried it to the washroom of the Ryan International School, where Pradyuman was found dead in September this year. However, CBI probe found out that the murder weapon (knife) belonged to the Class XI student who has now been accused of murdering Pradyuman Thakur.

According to a report by the Times of India, both Pradyuman Thakur and Class XI student were familiar with each other. During the counselling, the accused is said to have told the juvenile justice board that he used to go to piano classes with the deceased in the Bhondsi school. After reaching the school on September 8, he asked him to accompany him to the washroom where he slit his throat.

The accused did not have any bloodstains on his uniform as Pradyuman’s bag acted as a shield, the report said. He then left the knife in the washroom to call the teachers and the gardener.

The accused had exam phobia
The accused reportedly confessed that he had exam phobia and that he wanted to postpone the exam. He claimed that he lost interest in studies due to the frequent fight between his parents. The report further states that the district child protection unit will meet the juvenile’s parents and neighbours to prepare a report, which is likely to play a key role in the CBI investigation.
