Did Indian and Chinese soldiers clash in Ladakh on August 15? Watch video

The video has surfaced at a time when there is growing tension between two countries due to the disputed Doklam plateau close to Sikkim

In a video which is doing the round on social media, soldiers of the Indian and Chinese army can be seen throwing stones and punching and kicking each other near Pangong Lake in Ladakh on August 15. The video has surfaced at a time when there is growing tension between two countries due to the disputed Doklam plateau close to Sikkim.

The army, however, has not commented on the 72-second video which is taken from a rocky shore with vibrant blue water of the lake at the far end. The army said, “Currently, we have no confirmation of the authenticity of the video”.

The incident took place when the Chinese soldiers crossed the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the de-facto boundary, around the lake. The area is used to face-offs as two-third part of the lake is under Chinese control. After the stone attack, border officials of both the sides had a marathon meeting in Ladakh sector. In the meeting, ways to maintain “peace and tranquillity in the region were discussed.
