It was Mars attack at Grammys 2018

Bruno Mars won in all six categories that he was nominated in

Bruno Mars swept the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, which were held last night, taking home six Grammys, including the coveted ‘Record of the Year’ award. Mars, who took home the three biggest awards (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year), won in all six categories that he was nominated in.

While accepting his ‘Album of the Year’ award for 24K Magic, Mars acknowledged his fellow nominees saying, “Lorde, Kung Fu Kenny [Kendrick Lamar], Jay-Z, [Childish] Gambino, you guys are the reason why I’m in the studio pulling my hair out, because I know you guys are only gonna come with the top shelf artistry and music.” Aside from the big three, Mars also snatched the ‘Best R&B Album’ and ‘Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical’ awards for 24K Magic, and the ‘Best R&B Performance and Song’ award for “That’s What I Like.”

Rap-artist Kendrick Lamar followed Mars’ six wins with four Grammys of his own. Lamar bagged the ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’ award for “Loyalty” and ‘Best Rap Performance’, ‘Best Rap Song’, and ‘Best Music Video’ for “Humble.”

Unfortunately, veteran rapper Jay-Z who led the nominations’ list with eight mentions, couldn’t rake up a single Grammy, continuing the 14-year-long drought of hip-hop artists taking home the ‘Album of the Year.’
