This ironical photo of man peeing on poster of Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has gone viral

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is all set to release tomorrow, August 11. But this time the movie is in news for a shocking reason

Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is all set to hit screens tomorrow, August 11. The movie, which also features Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles, highlights the importance of toilets and promotes healthy sanitary habits. By blending entertainment with a socially relevant topic, the makers have managed to create a strong buzz around the film. While most of us are excited to watch the movie, this Akshay Kumar-starrer has also become a part of a joke on social media.

No, not because of any scene but for an altogether different reason. A man was caught peeing on the poster of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and the image immediately went viral. Netizens were quick to point out the irony and turned the picture into a meme. While Akshay is doing his bit to fight open defecation and urinating in public, this man’s ‘brave act’ might just have ruined the message.

Here is how Twitter reacted to this:

The film has been given three verbal cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification. Talking about it, Akshay had earlier said, “I remember one of the cuts clearly… They asked us to remove the word ‘haraami’ and there two more verbal cuts. I don’t know from where this news comes that the film has got 8 cuts… I was surprised myself.”

Before the movie focused on promoting the need for sanitation and ending open defecation, Akshay had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him about the film’s subject.

When asked whether he was planning any special screening of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha for PM Modi ahead of the film’s release, Akshay said “I would love to show it to him, but I am sure he has lots to do for our country rather than just watching this film. But yes, we’d love to show it to him.”

The film is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and is backed by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
