No one else, but only Shah Rukh Khan is the perfect choice for Raees

When we see him wearing pathani with surma in his eyes, we know that no one could have played Raees better than Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees is just a few days away from its release and people are going crazy to watch their superstar on the silver screen. While the movie was surrounded with many controversies since the time of its trailer release, the excitement of SRK fans has not gone down even a little bit.

The moment we see him wearing that pathani with surma in his eyes, the very first thought that comes to our mind is, no one could have played the character better than SRK. And just like us, director Rahul Dholakia and producer Ritesh Sidhwani also think the same.

In an interview with Bombay Times, both Rahul and Ritesh revealed that Shah Rukh only gave them 10 minutes, but he liked the story so much that he kept on listening to the narration for more than 45 minutes. They said:

SRK was so hooked to the story that he wanted to know the end. That’s when he told us he will be doing the film. He believed no one else could play Raees (his character in the film) better than him. Once he wears the pathani, surma and chashma, he transforms into Raees.

They further added:

The minute you see him in the film, he looks different. He has lived Raees. What many people don’t know is that SRK does a lot of homework. He questioned us why we thought he should play Raees. We just told him one dialogue from the film — Baniye Ka Dimaag Aur Miyanbhai Ki Daring! It sums up the film perfectly and that clinched it for us. He was totally convinced.

The duo also scrapped all the rumours of Raees being based on the real-life story of gangster Abdul Latif. And about the clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, they said that it is not a big issue as both the films have enough space to do well at the Box Office.
