Jab Harry Met Sejal Box Office opening weekend: Shah Rukh Khan film does poor business

Opening Weekend Box Office Report: Jab Harry Met Sejal would emerge as the biggest flop for Shah Rukh Khan in last 17 years

Jab Harry Met Sejal failed to show any sort of growth in collections on Sunday as the film collected in the range of Rs 15 to 16 crore on the third day as well, taking the weekend total to Rs 45 crore. The Shah Rukh Khan – Anushka Sharma film was off to a decent start at the Box Office, however did not witness any growth in collections over the weekend.

The Imtiaz Ali directorial released on 3300 screens and had an immense scope to grow. But owing to the poor critic reviews and audience response, it didn’t perform as per expectations during the opening weekend. The collections at multiplexes in tier one and tier two cities were decent, but the film was a complete disaster at the single screens. Several shows of the film were called off in the interiors due to lack of audience, which is an alarming sign for the film.

The pan India distribution rights of Jab Harry Met Sejal were sold to NH Studioz for approximately Rs 70 crore and they are expected to loose substantial chunk of their investment. Even though the release encounters a partial holiday due to Raksha Bandhan on Monday, however, owing to the outright negative response we don’t see the film reaping the benefits of the holiday.

Jab Harry Met Sejal is projected to end its run at the Box Office with collections in the range of Rs 65 to 70 crore, and thereby would emerge as one of the biggest flop for Shah Rukh Khan in last 17 years.
