Video: Man secretly films Indian families in US Park, says ‘they are taking away our jobs’

The video is posted on a website created by a 66 year old computer programmer

In the aftermath of recent attacks on people of Indian-origin, an anti-immigration website featuring photos and videos of Indian families relaxing in the city of Columbus, Ohio has escalated fear among the Indian community in the country.

The video-posted on the website SaveAmericanITJobs.com-shows children playing in a park and elderly people taking stroll while the person behind the camera calls the neighbourhood a ‘mini-Mumbai’. The video describes how wealthy Indian families have ‘moved in’ to suburban homes in Ohio as “displacement of Americans has occurred”.

According to a report in Buzzfeed, the website has been created and maintained by Steve Pushor, a 66-year-old computer programmer from Virginia.

“The number of people from foreign countries blows my mind out here. You see this whole area is all Indian, amazing. It’s an amazing number of jobs have been taken away from Americans. The Indian crowd has ravished the Midwest. It’s a takeover.(sic)” Pushor narrates while rolling the camera around the park.

“The Indian crowd has ravished the Midwest. It’s crazy. I ask this question — what happened to all the American people that used to live in this middle, upper-middle class neighbourhood? Where does all this money come from?” the man remarks as he walks through the park. He also describes the park as Mini-Mumbai.

Pushor told BuzzFeed News that he is trying to point out that “people in Ohio, IT workers and other professional people, have lost their jobs to foreign guest workers. That’s what our point is.”

The report said Pushor had initially posted the video in August and it has re-surfaced again recently.
