Kansas shooting: Srinivas Kuchibhotla’s relative blames Donald Trump for the tragic incident

Five hours after the Kansas shooting, the local police arrested the 51-year-old US navy veteran Adam Purinton

A relative of Srinivas Kuchibhotla, an Indian-origin engineer who was gunned down by an American navy veteran at a restaurant in Olathe, Kansas, blamed the United States president Donald Trump for the hate crime.

“US newly-elected president Donald Trump is the primary reason behind the hate crime that took place at a bar in Kansas,” a relative of Kuchibhotla said while adding that this is the first incident of its own which has taken place in the family.

Earlier on February 22, an American man opened fire on a group of Indians after allegedly yelling “get out of my country” slurs at them.

Meanwhile, expressing concern over the killing, the United States (US) Embassy in New Delhi has strongly condemned the act and assured the victim’s family of a fair probe in this case. The Embassy has also asserted that the US is a nation which welcomes people from other countries.
