Nawaz Sharif calls Burhan Wani a martyr, again

Sharif claimed that Pakistan wants to resolve all issues, including Kashmir.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yet again called Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani a martyr while addressing the Pakistani joint session of Parliament.

Claiming that Pakistan wants to resolve all issues, Sharif said, “We are against war, we want peace and want to resolve all issues including Kashmir peacefully.”

Sharif said Pakistan has a firm commitment to continue its support to “Kashmiris for their legitimate” struggle. Kashmir is “burning continuously like a volcano and a convoy of Hurriyat is on its way to achieve the objectives”, Sharif said.

He also added that the UN resolutions on Kashmir are still on the agenda of the UN Security Council and the international community should take immediate steps for implementation on these resolutions.

Sharif dismissed Pakistan’s hand in Uri attacks where 18 Indian soldiers were killed, stating that India’s claim is unwarranted.

“Within hours of Uri attack and without any investigation, India blamed Pakistan for it,” Sharif said.
