Twitteratti welcomes Apple’s woman with a hijab emoji. These reactions will amaze you

On the World Emoji Day, Apple has added a new woman with a hijab emoji to its emoji keyboard. The new emojis also include a breastfeeding woman and a man doing yoga among others

Unlike old times, emoji are no longer the supplements to our digital conversations. In the digital era, they are an important part of the mainstream conversation conveying a host of emotions and expressions. However, today emojis are not only being used to convey sentiments but in the conversations happening over the Internet, they are also being used to represent cultures across the globe.  Hence, it’s important that these emojis are not just gender-inclusive but also take into account the culture aspect of the world that we live in today. And activists across the globe have been advocating for the cause for a long time.

Apple recently announced a host of new emojis that will make it to iOS, WatchOS and MacOS later this year. The newly launched emojis include many interesting emojis like a zombie, a zebra, a genie, an elf, a man doing yoga and a bearded man among others.

Interestingly, Apple’s new emoji keyboard also includes a woman with a hijab emoji. “The new emoji make it easier for users to express themselves with greater diversity, additional animals and creatures, new smiley faces and more,” Apple said a blog.
