If I wasn’t so hungry, I’d be really pissed, says Twitterati over Zomato hack

Food ordering and delivery website Zomato has been hacked and the user data of 17 million users has been stolen. Twitterati are going crazy over the news and sharing their funny reactions

Online food delivering website Zomato on Thursday admitted a massive breach in its database. The company said that the user data, which includes e-mail addresses and hashed passwords, of 17 million of its 120 million customers had been stolen by the hackers. In a blog post, Zomato admitted that even though the user data of its customers had been stolen, their information was safe as the company uses special encryption technique to safeguard its data.

The company also reassured its customers saying that their payment information, which includes the credit card details, was safe as it is stored in a PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) compliant vault.

As a precautionary measure, Zomato has reset the password of all the affected customers and logged them out of both, the app and the website. The company has also issued an advisory urging all its users to change their password on Zomato and on all other platforms where they use a similar password.

Meanwhile, Twitterati are going crazy over the news and are sharing their ‘fungry’ reactions on Twitter. Check out some of most rib-tickling reactions here:
