Here’s how Vodafone plans to counter Reliance Jio

Vodafone announces special offers for its Mumbai subscribers

Reliance Jio has stormed the Indian telecom industry with its flamboyant plans. From its ‘Welcome Offer’ that offered unlimited data, free voice calls, video calls, SMS and video streaming to its customers for 90 months to its ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan’ plan, which offers unlimited SMS, calling and data (1GB per day at 4G speed) for three months to the Jio Prime customers, Jio storm has rattled Indian telecom giants like Airtel and Vodafone forcing them to seek help from the telecom regulatory authority of India (TRAI) to put an end to the company’s ambitious strategy.

After Airtel offered 30 GB free data to all its postpaid users to prevent them from migrating to Jio, it’s time that Vodafone too did some damage control.

In a bid to counter the Jio storm and be a part of the ongoing 4G revolution in the country, Vodafone is giving its subscribers in Mumbai who upgrade to Vodafone SuperNet 4G free 4 GB data.

While the prepaid customers will get free 4G data for 10 days, the postpaid customers can avail the free 4GB data till their next billing date. The free 4G data will be available to all the customers who upgrade to a free 4G SIM.
