Airtel now lets you carry over left over data to next month

Airtel's 'postpaid promise' has gone live. Postpaid users will now get the left over data from their previous billing cycle in their current billing cycle. Check out how it works

Airtel last month had announced the ‘Data Postpaid Promise’ for all its postpaid subscribers. As a part of the plan, postpaid users would get the left over data from their previous billing cycle in their current billing cycle. The offer was scheduled to go live in August and it is now available for all postpaid users in the country. There is no word if the company will extend this plan to its prepaid or broadband users.

How does the Airtel data postpaid promise work?

It’s really simple. Suppose you have subscribed to a 5 GB per month data plan and you just consumed 3 GB in the month of July. The remaining have 2 GB will be carried forward to the month of August and you will get a total of 7 GB data instead of 5 GB. Interestingly, the data will be carried forward automatically and users will not have to contact Airtel for the same.

According to Airtel, only unused 3G or 4G data can be rolled over to the next billing cycle and users can carry forward a maximum of 200 GB data to the next billing cycle. Also, this offer cannot be combined with any other offer. It is important to note that if you switch over to a plan of lower value, all your leftover data will be forfeited. However, if you switch over to a plan of higher value, your leftover data will be carried forward.
