#SayWhat: PETA Stocked Kolkata Washrooms With Toilet Paper That Put People Off Their Food

To mark World Toilet Day, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in India recommended people to 'Go Vegan' in the most bizarre way.

To mark World Toilet Day, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in India recommended people to ‘Go Vegan’ in a way that has left many shocked. They stocked restaurant bathrooms in Kolkata with toilet paper rolls which carried a message. The message reads: “Fish farms keep fish in such poor conditions that parasites, diseases, and injuries are common. Many farms also feed fish human waste, making eating fish an especially crappy thing to do. Wipe cruelty from your diet. Go vegan.”

PETA India CEO Dr Manilal Valliyate explained about the move, “The public has a right to know that the fish they consume may have been fed human excrement, and this cheeky toilet paper will help them learn the truth.”

Did you know fish are often fed human excrement before being sold to be eaten? Kolkatans, take part in our toilet paper mission to urge the public to wipe cruelty from its diet. Here’s how: https://t.co/4Z2ySrwvWm #WorldToiletDay

He further added that PETA India is trying to encourage people to keep all sensitive animals off their plates in favour of clean and vibrant vegan meals.

According to PETA, approximately 10,000 tonnes of human waste-fed fish are reared in East Kolkata’s wetlands every year, with fish forced to swim in human excrement.
