This Pune Cop Had To Do A Traffic Experiment To Remind People That Life > Speed

The police officer asked one of them to follow all traffic rules, while the other was asked to ride as he pleases.

Following traffic rules in India is usually the anomaly, not the norm in our country. Breaking the traffic signal to driving on the wrong side, there isn’t much that we don’t do on the regular. So to ‘drive’ home the point that safety comes first, this Pune policewoman came up with a brilliant experiment to remind commuters that breaking traffic rules isn’t kosher.

Tejaswi Satpute, DCP, Traffic Police conducted an experiment of sorts by asking two bikers, to ride a distance of 10 kms. She asked one of them to follow all traffic norms, while the other was asked to ride as he pleases. Time difference between the two riders, you ask? Only four minutes.

Taking to the Twitter, Tejaswi asked commuters: “Is it worth risking your life for four minutes?”

Dear all
Did a small experiment 2day. Sent 2 bikers on 2 same company bikes frm katraj to s.nagar(10km), one was told to do whatever and reach at the earliest n other was asked to religiously follow traffic rules. Travel time diff ws 4mins.

Sounds about right

Good experiment.
But people have lost all respect for red lights, zebra crossing and pedestrians.
While educating people,Traffic Police have got to be strict an show zero tolerance.
Selfish driving is seen and not defensive driving.

Surely its not. Instead of breaking traffic rules & putting someone’s life in danger, its better to start early drive comfortably reach timely. Appreciate your efforts & innovative approach.
