Internet is in awe of this stunning grandma who quit sugar 30 years ago [Photos]

When most of us even unable to control our sweet cravings and for anything that looks tempting enough, Carolyn actually, went ahead and gave it all up.

Who doesn’t love a compliment? When the entire world is talking about benefits of exercising, trying to achieve those elusive fitness standards and looking younger, a grandmother in Australia found a way out some 30 years ago. Carolyn Hartz, 70, gave up on sugar 30 years back and she looks nothing like her age. When most of us even unable to control ours cravings for anything that looks tempting enough, Carolyn actually, went ahead and gave it all up as soon as she was diagonsed with pre-diabetes. But, wait, she hasn’t completely given given up on her sweet cravings because, obviously, that is not humanly possible. LOL.

In the beginning, Carolyn did stop consuming sugar-based products, in order to bring down her blood sugar levels, she told Huffington Post (UK) in an interview. “Once she’d achieved that [normal blood-sugar levels] , she decided that sweet treats could be eaten in moderation – and would occasionally indulge in something tasty, albeit sugar-free,” the report states.

For those of you who still cannot believe what can actually happen when you cut down on sugar in your diet and what wonders can happen when you do so, the results of Carolyn’s 30 years of efforts are a proof enough. But it is not a sugar-free diet only, “she is also a fan of regular exercise – playing tennis, meditating and going for regular walks”, according to Huffington Post report.

In these Instagram photographs posted by Sweet Life, her own company which sells sugar-free products, her looks belie her age:

Love days like this – relaxing with my gorgeous rescue dog ‘Lafs’ (Love At First Sight).x Also a frienly reminder that xylitol brings wonderful benefits to people but can be harmful for dogs. There are many ‘human’ foods that are not suitable for our pets including xylitol, chocolate, onion, avacado, grapes and macadamia nuts. #sweetlife #ditchsugar #rescuedog #dog #doglover #xylitol

One of my favourite photos with my granddaughter. I loved baking with my kids when they were little and now I love baking with my grandchildren, but now baking “honestly” sugar free! This picture features in my ‘Sugar Free Baking’ cookbook and I have received so many lovely comments.
