Samsung Galaxy S8 colour, price revealed!

New leaks about Samsung's flagship Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus suggest that these smartphones are going to be a costly affair

It is that of time of the year when inside details about the upcoming smartphones just keep pouring in. From Huawei’s Honor 8 and Asus’ ZenFone 3 Go, that will be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC 2017), to Apple’s iPhone 8 and Xiaomi’s Redmi 5, that will be unveiled later this year, the digital space is filled with gossips about the features that these upcoming smartphones will be featuring. Amid these never-ending rumours, it’s Samsung’s flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus that have gained the limelight again.

And this time around, it’s the details about the price and colours that has spread like the wild fire. Reports suggest that the pricing and colour options of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have been leaked from the database of a Ukraine-based retailer. According to the leaked details, Galaxy S8 (SM-G950) and Galaxy S8 Plus (SM-G955) will be available in three colour variants– Black, Gold and Orchid Gray. While Galaxy S8 will be priced at 24,179 Hryvnia (Rs 59,945 approx), Galaxy S8 Plus will cost 26,969 Hryvnia (Rs 66,862 approx).

According to another report, Samsung will use batteries manufactured by Sony in its Galaxy S8 smartphone. Sony will be one of the three manufacturers that will be manufacturing batteries for the upcoming smartphones. The other two manufacturers include Japan’s Murata Manufacturing and Samsung SDI.

Earlier this month, serial leaker Evan Blass revealed key details about Samsung’s upcoming smartphones. The deets that he leaked suggest that while Galaxy S8 would come with a 5.8-inch display, Galaxy S8 Plus would feature a 6.2-inch screen. Among other features, the smartphones are likely to feature Qualcomm’s latest processor– Snapdragon 835 with AMOLED screen and Bixby virtual assistant.

Samsung is expected to unveil the two smartphones on March 29, 2017, at an event in the New York City.
