Serena Williams’ heartwarming message for her unborn child is all kinds of amazing

"I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you," writes Serena Williams for her unborn child.

Quite recently, American tennis player Serena Williams announced her pregnancy. The 35-year-old international sports star, who is engaged to entrepreneur and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, had shared the news on Snapchat with the caption “20 weeks”. Now, in a new Instagram post, Williams has shared a heart-warming open letter to her unborn child. In her message, she stated that she’s immensely happy to have shared her winning moment at the 2017 Australian Open with her baby.

Serena Williams’ post comes amid suspended Fed Cup captain Ilie Nastase’s racist remarks against her child. Reportedly, Nastase had remarked, “Let’s see what colour it has. Chocolate with milk?” Williams is black while her fiancé/baby daddy Alexis Ohanian is white.

My Dearest Baby,
You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year. But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you…. once again today. Since at the time of announcement Serena was 20 weeks pregnant, it was deduced that Serena won her 23rd Grand Slam while she was with child. Serena beat her sister Venus Williams to shine at the 2017 Australian Open in January.

In another post, Serena directly attacked Nastase saying it was disappointing ‘to know we live in a society where people like Ilie Nastase can make such racist comments towards myself and [my] unborn child’.

Her baby may not have been born yet but it seems evident that Serena is about to be a fireball of a mother. Serena is due in autumn and has decided to take some time off from tennis for the rest of this year.
