Etash Khan’s Journey From Being A Farmer’s Boy to India’s Boxing Prospect

So far, Etash Khan has played in Asian Championships, World Championships. He has also won in World Series Boxing in Rohtak.

Mohammed Etash Khan is the young boxing sensation of India. The southpaw also won gold at Youth Boxing Nationals in 2017. However, all his achievements never came easy for him. The 19-year-old was born to a farmer from Thoubal district near Imphal, Manipur and comes from a humble background.

Khan took up boxing at a very young age, following his brother Ibrahim who was a sub-junior champion. In 2011, he entered the sub-junior nationals through trials and won a gold medal in Shillong nationals. Later, he became the state-level champion fighting in small competitions. In 2012 he was with the Manipur Sports Authority of India (SAI) for a year. So far he has played in Asian Championships, World Championships. He has also won the World Series Boxing in Rohtak.

He thrashed Zhu by frustrating him with invincible defense and lethal blows. Recently, he helped Indian Tigers take an unassailable lead of 3-1 against China Dragons.
