Jasprit Bumrah Stuns Keaton Jennings & Cricket World With The Ball That Swung 3.77 Degrees — Watch

Jasprit Bumrah is full of surprises

Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holdings feels that Jasprit Bumrah is not a new ball bowler. But it seems like Bumrah is adamant in proving him wrong. Being able to swing the ball is a must-have trait for an opening bowler. The 24-year-old did that when he opened the bowling on the fourth Test as well and stunned the world with a beautiful inswinger to take opener Keaton Jennings’ wicket.

Bumrah tactically set up Jennings by bowling two outswingers followed by one sharp inswinger to catch him off-guard. The left-handed opener was bamboozled by the delivery as he could not even offer a shot. All he did was awkwardly get struck on the pads, plumb in front of the stumps.

The ball swung a massive 3.77 degrees. The 26-year-old has scored just 94 runs in 7 innings but the booming inswinger from Bumrah was almost unplayable for him.

Here’s the video of the dismissal:

There were mixed reactions on Twitter as few lambasted the opener while others just praised it as a peach of a delivery from Bumrah:

Lawrie, that ball from Bumrah would have trapped the best player in the world, He had never bowled this particular kind of ball before. It was almost a freak delivery. Jennings cannot be blamed for the manner in which he was trapped.

Jennings out for nought, lbw offering no shot to booming inswinger. Batsman looking to leave, misjudging line and swing – sure signs of lack of form and confidence

“It is the first time I’ve seen anything like that in this series”@BeefyBotham defends Jennings as Bumrah swings one in after four teasing outswingers.

Absolute ripper from Bumrah embarrasses Jennings – hooping one back and thundering into the pads with the left-hander offering an ungainly no-shot

Holding didn’t rate Bumrah as a new ball bowler. Not surprised then.

The ball from Jasprit Bumrah to dismiss Jennings swung 3.77° – Bumrah has only bowled two deliveries which have swung more in his entire Test career. #ENGvIND

Jennings was leaving that the moment Bumrah started his run-up. Grim. #EngvInd

RIP Keaton Jennings Test career, clueless idiot.

Looks like Jennings has pre meditated that… decided that ball was going to go across him but Bumrah can swing both ways #dangerous

Jennings out playing no stroke. I refer you to my 900 previous tweets on this subject. Sure he’s a lovely fella, but he’s not a Test opener, in any way.

The 24-year-old fast bowler could have had the perfect first session on Day 1 of the fourth Test but he got skipper Joe Root’s wicket off a no ball. Despite being in good form, bowling no balls seems to be a norm for him.

However, he made up for the blunder by taking wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow’s wicket towards the end of his first spell.
