IPL 2018: Ignored In India’s T20 Squad, Rishabh Pant Sets 17 Milestones With His Maiden IPL Ton

IPL 2018, DD vs SRH: Rishabh Pant smashed 15 boundaries and 7 sixes in his breathtaking unbeaten 63-ball 128-run knock

Delhi Daredevils’ wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant made a mockery of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowlers, including Bhuveneshwar Kumar, after he smashed them all around the park to complete his maiden IPL ton in Match Number 42 of IPL 2018 at the Ferozshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi on May 10.

Left-handed batsman Pant once again stepped up to the occasion with his maiden century to rescue Delhi Daredevils (DD) from a dismal start and helped them post a challenging 187/5 against bowler-heavy SRH. Pant smashed 15 boundaries and 7 sixes in his breathtaking unbeaten 63-ball 128-run knock.

Following his blistering unbeaten century, Pant set 17 milestones in the shortest format of the game:

  1. Rishabh Pant becomes the first Indian to score a ton in this season
  2. Highest individual score by an Indian in the Twenty20 format.
  3. Rishabh Pant scored 26 runs off the last over of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Most expensive over by Bhuvi so far.
  4. Rishabh Pant alone has managed to score more than what most teams were able to score against SRH.
  5. 1085 Runs — Rishabh Pant becomes the 5th highest scorer for DD after Virender Sehwag (2174), David Warner (1435), Gautam Gambhir (1182) and Shreyas Iyer (1161).
  6. 128 not out — Highest individual score for DD
  7. 163.65 — Second-highest strike rate overall for DD
  8. 57 Sixes — 3rd batsman to hit most sixes for DD after Virender Sehwag (85) and David Warner (58)
  9. 102 runs — Most runs from boundaries (fours and sixes) for DD – 15 fours and 7 sixes
  10. Youngest to complete 1000 runs in the IPL
  11. Rishabh Pant has become the 31st batsman (13th Indian) in IPL history to score a hundred!
  12. 56 Fours — These many boundaries have been hit by Rishabh Pant in this season so far which is also the highest by any batsman.
  13. 27 Sixes — Pant equals MS Dhoni’s tally of most sixes in this season so far
  14. 500+ runs —: Pant becomes the first batsman in this season to go past 500 runs. He currently has 521 runs from 11 games and now wears the Orange Cap
  15. 15 Fours — Most number of fours hit by any batsman in a single inning in this season.
  16. Century in 56 Balls —: Pant became the second-fastest batsman to score a century in this season
  17. Pant has scored the joint second-highest number of fours in an innings in IPL history (15 fours). He equalled Murali Vijay and Quinton de Kock. The list is headed by AB de Villiers with 19 fours.

Earlier, Pant failed to find a place in India’s T20 squad which scheduled to tour Ireland and England in June-July.
