IPL 2018: Chris Gayle Takes Best Catch Of His Career To Dismiss Ajinkya Rahane

IPL 2018: Kings XI Punjab skipper R Ashwin won the toss and elected to field against Rajasthan Royals

Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) last minute buy, Chris Gayle is proving their franchise’s decision right by performing with the bat at the top order. Gayle is the one who scored the first century of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2018.

Gayle is currently at Number 11 on the most runs scored by a batsman in IPL 2018 list with 302 runs in his bag, including 1 hundred and 3 fifties.

During Match Number 38 of the IPL 2018 between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore, Gayle did something unexpected on the field.

Gayle, popularly known as ‘Universe Boss’, took undoubtedly the best catch of his career while fielding at the backward point. The incident happened in the 4th over of the RR innings, when Ajinkya Rahane tried to cut Axar Patel’s delivery through point but the ball bounced a bit and went backwards. Gayle, who was stationed there, showed amazing reflexes as he dived full length to grab the ball millimetres short of the ball hitting the turf.

On-field umpires referred it to the TV umpire who after watching replays gave his decision out.

Earlier, KXIP skipper R Ashwin won the toss and elected to field against RR.
