India vs Windies: MS Dhoni is training Rishabh Pant, here’s proof

Rishabh Pant is yet to make his ODI debut, was seen taking some advice from former Indian skipper MS Dhoni, ahead of the first match.

After losing to Pakistan in the final match of ICC Champions Trophy and the ongoing ‘tussle’ between Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble, team India will be looking forward to move on as they play a five-match ODI series against West Indies. With in-form opening batsman Rohit Sharma and bowler Jasprit Bumrah rested for the West Indies tour, youngster Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav have been included in the 15-man squad.

Rishabh Pant, who is yet to make his ODI debut, was seen taking some advice from former Indian skipper MS Dhoni, ahead of the first match. The 19-year old Pant, known for his hard-hitting batting, had a brilliant run in the domestic circuit with Delhi and followed it up with an impressive IPL.

The left-handed batsman, who represents Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League, took the cricket world by storm during the tenth edition of the tournament where he scored 366 runs in 14 innings. After India’s failure in the chase in the final at The Oval, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni’s performance with the bat has come under scrutiny.

Meanwhile, as Team India prepared for the opening match, they were paid a surprise visit by star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, along with Darren Bravo. The duo met some of the Indian players at the Queen’s Park Oval when the Indian side were busy practicing.

Both the players are not part of West Indies’ squad for the first two ODIs against India. Dwayne Bravo has had a long relationship with Indian cricket due to his stints with the Indian Premier League. Bravo has been a star performer for franchises like Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions, although he missed the entire season this year due to an injury.
