Evin Lewis shows off brute force once again, hits 3 sixes in a row during his 31-ball 75 in BPL 2017 — WATCH

Evin Lewis has been in exceptional form in Bangladesh Premier League 2017, scoring three half-centuries while opening for Dhaka Dynamites

Evin Lewis is one of the most dominant and explosive batsmen in cricket. Lewis has made a mark in the shortest format of the game in every T20 league he has played. The Windies opener scored 75 runs from 31 balls for Dhaka Dynamites, hitting 9 huge sixes and just 3 fours in an inning. Lewis scored at a whopping strike rate of 241.94 before getting out in the 12th over, with 69 runs needed from 50 balls. The 25-year-old’s inning contributed to a target of 188 set by Chittagong Vikings.

Lewis is known for hitting back-to-back sixes and for targetting one bowler in his innings and score as many runs as he can in an over. He did it against Stuart Binny by hitting him for 5 sixes in a row in a T20I match at Lauderhill, Florida. And now, it was the turn of Bangladeshi cricketer Sunzamul Islam in the BPL 2017. Islam came to bowl in the 9th over of Dhaka Dynamites’ innings and ended up conceding 26 runs in an over.

First six – Islam bowled a delivery on the leg stump, giving Lewis a chance to have a go at him. He went on one knee and swept the ball into the stands over the deep square leg boundary for a maximum – a 93-metre hit.

Second six – Second ball was on the off-stump length but right in the slot for Lewis. He struck that way up into the air, the ball went over the long on for another maximum.

Third six – The left-arm spinner came round the wicket, this time trying to get the ball away from him. Lewis reached out for the ball, went on one knee and struck it way up in the air. At one point, it seemed like Lewis might get caught but he had enough power behind the shot to carry it metres over the long fence. That hit helped Lewis get to his fifty in just 24 balls.

The 25-year-old could not hit the next one for six and took a single. Joe Denly gave him the strike back as Lewis prepared for another hit on the last ball of the over. A similar shot over the long on for a maximum. Islam did not come to bowl after bowling a horrendous over to Lewis.
