Ramiz Raja turns script-writer, ropes in Sanjay Dutt and ‘Wave’ as producer

Pakistan cricket has suffered a lot in the past decade due to terrorism as they have not been able to host countries due to security reasons. Former cricketers too have been hit by the unfortunate incidents which have deprived Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of funds and Pakistan players of opportunities. Former Pakistan cricketer turned commentator Ramiz Raja has decided to tell the story of cricket and players in Pakistan through a Bollywood movie. Yes, you read that right! Raja has taken up script writing and is already with talks with Wave Group for the movie.

Raja has taken up script writing and is already with talks with Wave Group for the movie. He has even roped in Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt to star in his movie. He believes that his movie will lay emphasis on the scenario of cricket in Pakistan and tell the world the grass-root level. Raja has clarified that it is not a biopic.

The 54-year-old wishes to cast heroines like Katrina Kaif and Mahira Khan in his movie opposite Sanjay Dutt. He believes that Bollywood will be a good platform for his movie and can help the movie reach masses, he also considers it as an ‘Oscars Project’. He also revealed that the director of the film will be Girish Malik who is well known for his direction in ‘Jal’.

Raja hopes to fill the gap between the two countries from the emotions that will be showcased in the film. He was recently trolled for his tweet complaining about why Australian Open Final was not telecasted in Pakistan.
