Ajinkya Rahane Wins Hearts On Twitter For Inviting Afghanistan Team To Pose With Trophy — Watch

Ajinkya Rahane praised Afghan bowlers for making a comeback with the ball in first innings after centuries from openers Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay

It took India 20 years to win their first Test match since their debut. It was never going to be an easy win for Afghanistan playing their inaugural Test against World’s No.1 team. India registered their largest win by an innings and 262 runs and finished the match in just two days, bundling out Afghanistan twice in a day. Cricket experts did not expect Afghanistan to win their first Test and that’s exactly what happened.

Afghanistan skipper Asghar Stanikzai thanked the fans present at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru for their support. India’s stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane was presented with the trophy in post-match presentation. In a heart-warming gesture, Rahane invited Afghan players to pose with the series trophy.

In the post-match presentation Rahane talked about a few positives of Afghanistan Test side as well, he said,

It was important for all of us to stick to our basics, create some good habits, but credit to Afghanistan, they were fantastic. From here on it is only upwards and onwards for them. Their seamers bowled really well, especially in the third session yesterday and I am sure they will go a long way against all opponents.
