Remember Alisha Chinai’s ‘Made In India’? This music video makes us question 90s fashion trends

We love 'Made In India', but every time we take a closer look at Alisha's somewhat bizarre outfits we can't help but question the stylist's intentions.

First things first, Alisha Chinai is iconic. The song Made In India‘ (which also won International Viewer’s Choice Award for MTV Asia) was a trendsetter 21 years later, and we’re still jamming to it. We love the video and everything, but every time we take a closer look at Alisha’s somewhat bizarre outfits we can’t help but question the stylist’s intentions. The theme of the music video is India goddamit, the outfits could’ve been downright gorgeous.

We’ve got everything from lehengas to sarees, why would they do my girl Alisha like that? No shade on Alisha, she looks as cute as a button throughout the video, but the outfits do her no justice!

Let’s break down all the fashion disasters happening in the video, shall we?

Okay, so can someone please explain why was Alisha asked to bling up from head to toe?

No seriously.

She looks like a tiny solitaire diamond.

Also, what is this look?

Expectations: Marilyn Monroe  Reality:

Now while the outfit is gorgeous, the hat is completely out of place:

Speaking of distracting hats, was she planning to go to an excavation site and dig for gold?

A big NO NO on the feathers and gloves.

Also, why is there a random-ass Cheetah just chilling casually?

THIS is a ‘Made In India’ look, we approve of! Dang, she looks gorgeous!
