Yogi Adityanath makes yoga compulsory in Uttar Pradesh schools

The decision has come after UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had a meeting with officials of education department

In a latest decision taken by Uttar Pradesh government, now yoga is made compulsory in all the government schools in the state. It will be the part of physical education syllabus. The decision has come after UP CM Yogi Adityanath had a meeting with officials of education department.

The statement issued read, “The Chief Minister directed that ‘Rani Laxmibai Aatmaraskha Kaaryakram’ (self defence programme) and ‘Yog Shiksha Kaaryakram’ (Yoga education programme) would be compulsory.”

UP CM in the meeting also said that if incidents of mass copying come to notice and if teachers are found taking private tuition, FIRs should be registered.

Also, the newly formed government in the state has decided that self defence training should be made compulsory to all the girl students in schools.

Reacting on the development, opposition said yoga can be made mandatory in all the government schools in UP, however,  no religious overtones should be given to it.

In the meeting, state government also came to conclusion that the guidelines should be issued by in order put an end to huge amount of fees  being charged by private schools and colleges.

CM emphasised on uniform syllabus to be followed by all the universities across state and to make sure that academic session in colleges are taking place on a regular basis.

After setting up of anti-Romeo squad and banning illegal slaughterhouses this is one of major decision taken by the UP government since it has come to power. The Yogi government has decided to make  self-defence training to girl students in the schools mandatory.
