When two cops pitched in to donate blood to a thief they shot in Delhi

Police had engaged in an encounter with two alleged thieves where one of them sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to the hospital in Delhi

In a rare incident, two police officials from the Delhi Police stepped in to donate blood to a thief they shot at. Soon after the two constables identified as Rajesh and Ashok, two others pitched in to donate blood to save the life of the thief who was battling for his life in a hospital in the national capital.

According to a report in Indian Express, accused Nitin alias Sonu (24) who sustained 5 bullet injuries had lost a lot of blood and was receiving treatment in Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital. The doctors told the daily that the two constables offered to help by donating blood to the accused adding that Nitin was now in a stable condition and is recovering from his injuries.

“The constables came forward and volunteered to donate blood. I was surprised… They told me that chasing criminals and catching them is their professional commitment. But donating blood to someone is humanity. On seeing them, two more policemen also came forward and filled up the donation form,” the daily quoted Rohini DCP Rishi Pal as saying.

Earlier on Wednesday, the police officials engaged in an encounter with Nitin and another accused in the near Ahimsa Vihar Apartments in Delhi. The alleged thiePolice had engaged in an encounter with two alleged thieves where one of them sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to the hospital in Delhives reportedly made efforts to flee on seeing two constables reaching the spot to nab them. However, one of the two allegedly fired shots at the police constables following the police officials fired back at them. While one of them managed to flee, Nitin who received bullet injuries was rushed to the hospital.

Police are currently making efforts to nab the second accused.
