In what is a rather rare sight, all the Lok Sabha members went on to sing Happy Birthday for speaker Sumitra Mahajan on her birthday. In the video, you can see the members of the parliament standing up and wishing Sumitra Mahajan on the occasion of her birthday as she continues to smile and greet them.
While the other members continued singing for the Lok Sabha speaker, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar stood up to wish her happy birthday. “On behalf of the house, I wish you a long and health life. That is all we pray and wish for. We hope we continue to function smoothly under your leadership,” he said.
To which, Sumitra Mahajan responded saying, “Keep scolding you? You didn’t ask for that right?”
