UP Man 'Stoned To Death', Family Seeks FIR Against Accused...A Group Of Monkeys

Police say it was an accident.

An elderly man in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly stoned to death by monkeys in a village in Baghpat district. The incident happened on October 17 when the victim Dharampal was attacked by 50-60 monkeys as per his family’s claim. However, what has left the police confused is the fact that the family members have sought an FIR to be registered against the monkeys.

According to a report by ANI, the victim’s brother said that Dharampal was attacked by 50-60 monkeys when he was collecting wood for ‘havan’. He was admitted to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The family has submitted a written complaint against the monkeys and want an FIR to be registered against them.

However, police have called the case an accident. Circle officer Ramala Rajiv Pratap Singh told PTI that the victim was sleeping near a stack of bricks when some monkeys came and started jumping on it. He got injured after the stack of bricks fell on him. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
