Player auction for the tenth season of the Indian Premier League is underway. Despite a huge number of players on the auction list, each franchise can buy up to 25 players each in a single auction. The highest number of foreign players sold in the auction will be 76. As soon as the auctioneer starts the bid of a player from his base price, franchises will first increase their bids by 5 lakhs till the bid reaches 1 crore. From 1 to 3 crores, bids will increase by 10 lakhs. The bids will increase by 20 lakhs when the amount ranges from 3 to 5 crores. UP CM Akhilesh Yadav’s advice to Amitabh Bachchan

Akhilesh Yadav has an advice for Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan who is the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism for quite some time. The Uttar Pradesh chief minister wants the Bollywood legend to stop promoting donkeys of Gujarat. “I would request Amitabh ji to stop advertising for donkeys of Gujarat,” Yadav said at an election rally in Rae Bareli ahead of the fourth phase of assembly polls.

Air hostess molested in Bengaluru’s posh locality

In yet another incident that raises serious concerns over the safety of woman in metro cities, an air hostess was allegedly sexually assaulted and injured by a biker at a posh locality in Bengaluru. The incident took place at about 10 PM on February 12 when the woman along with her friend was walking home at HRBR layout in the northern part of the city. DMK challenges trust vote won by E Palaniswami in Madras High Court

A day after the ruckus in the Tamil Nadu Assembly unfolded, DMK on February 20 filed a petition in Madras High Court challenging the trust vote won by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami. The Madras High Court is expected to hear the urgent petition on February 21. The opposition party has alleged that appropriate rules were no followed during the floor test. Meanwhile, O Panneerselvam who had said that he doubts the validity of the trust vote is also likely to move court against the confidence vote. Tamil Nadu governor Vidyasagar Rao had the support of 122 MLAs who had voted for him and hence, there was no confusion regarding the same. The opposition party also reportedly wants a fresh voting.
