IAF Squadron Leader Flies 101 Sorties In A Day, Because They’re Cool Like That

Squadron Leader Ajmer Singh flew 101 sorties in a single day with various categories of passengers in Powered Hang Glider at Air Force Station Bhisiana.

When it comes to guarding our borders or helping the country during natural disasters, the Indian Armed Forces have always come through and made us proud. But do you know what they do when they are not saving us?

They make records. Well, among other things. On the 86th anniversary of the Indian Air Force, the Aero Adventure Activities, an event to promote the spirit of adventure and motivate people to join the Air Force, was organised. At the event, Squadron Leader Ajmer Singh flew 101 sorties in a single day (an aircraft maneuver that goes from a defensive position, to one of attack), with various categories of passengers in Powered Hang Glider at Air Force Station, Bhisiana.

The Indian Air Force page on Facebook posted Singh’s achievement.

Earlier this month, the skydiving team of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Akash Ganga successfully attempted a complicated canopy formation bearing the Indian flag, undertaken at an altitude of 10,000 feet above ground in Malpura Drop Zone, Agra.

#EaglesQuest: IAF Skydive team #Akashganga added a new feather to the cap by making Canopy Relative Work (CRW) Diamond formation with the Indian flag. The challenging jump was undertaken from 10,000 ft above ground at Malpura Drop Zone, Agra on 30 Aug 18.https://t.co/Z1R9nkjmqI pic.twitter.com/SdoMhNvq59
