Rajinikanth to be brand ambassador for Malaysia? Here’s what the superstar has to say

Malaysian Prime Minister and his wife said that they were extremely fond of the Indian cinema and expressed their desire to meet superstar Rajinikanth

Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Mohammad Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak and his wife Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, who arrived in New Delhi on March 30 to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to boost ties with India,  fulfilled their desire of meeting a superstar in India. Malaysian PM and his wife met Rajinikanth at his house in Chennai.

Earlier, before arriving in India, Malaysian Prime Minister and his wife said that they were extremely fond of the Indian cinema and expressed their desire to meet superstar Rajinikanth.

According to the reports, Najib’s wish to meet Rajinikanth dates back to when the actor was in Malaysia for shooting for his film Kabali.

Meanwhile, there were speculations that Rajinikanth might be made the brand ambassador of Malayasian tourism. The actor, however, rejected the reports and said: “I was not offered to become brand ambassador for Malaysia. These are all rumours.”

Further on meeting the Malaysian Prime Minister, the actor said: “I shot Kabali in Malaysia and couldn’t get to thank him and express my gratitude to them so he came and we had a cordial meet.”

Tun Abdul Razak is currently on 5-day visit to India.

Earlier, welcoming the Malaysian Prime Minister, Indian PM Narendra Modi said: “India is delighted to welcome you, Prime Minister. Your visit will further boost India-Malaysia ties.”
