Rajnath Singh calls Naxal attack on CRPF men a ‘cold blooded murder’, assures action

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on April 25 paid tribute to 25 CRPF jawans who lost their lives a deadly Naxal attack in the Sukma area of Chhattisgarh. The Home Minister have dubbed the attack as a “cold-blooded murder” and have affirmed that action will be taken against those responsible.

Rajnath Singh also visited the hospital in Raipur where the injured CRPF personnel are getting treated. The Home Minister had earlier termed the incident as “unfortunate” even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee came out to condemn attack. “It is a cold blooded murder by the extremists. The Centre and state governments will work together and take action in this regard. It is an act of desperation. We have accepted it as a challenge. We will review the strategy and if necessary we will revisit it,” Rajnath Singh who addressed a press conference said.

This comes a day after as many as 300 Naxals opened fire at 150 jawans who had gathered there to guar the under construction road in the Sukma area. The Naxals reportedly used automati weapons, AK 47 and rocket launchers to attack the CRPF jawans. They also went on to loot the weapons of the cRPF jawans.
