Farooq Abdullah draws ire from Twitterati over his remarks on Kupwara attack

Farooq Abdullah asked the people of the State irrespective of their religion, creed, caste to unite and defeat the forces destroying the communal harmony.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and president of opposition National Conference (NC) Farooq Abdullah yesterday accused the union government of spreading hatred against Muslims by ‘raking’ up the recent terror attack at an Army camp in Kupwara district.

“This government has an ulterior motive to spread hatred against Muslims. Twenty-six CRPF jawans were killed in the Naxal attack at Sukma but they are more troubled by the attack in Kupwara where three jawans were killed,” he said.

He alleged the Kupwara incident was being highlighted to paint the Kashmiris in bad light “in order to cater to their own constituencies”. He said, “This perhaps is their new tactic to spread anti-Kashmir, anti-Muslim hatred among Indians.

Following Abdullah’s comment, he drew ire from across all corners. Condemning his remark, the National Panthers Party (NPP) held the former and his party responsible for the prevailing ‘nuisance’ situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

“He is the one who creates all the nuisance in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Farooq Abdullah has been getting all the benefit of time, right from whatever his father did or the people of Kashmir sacrificed for. How he became the Member of Parliament today, nobody talks about it. He didn’t even get 3.5 percent votes. He can speak anything he likes,” NPP leader Bhim Singh.

Even the Twitterati reacted sharply and slammed him on the micro-blogging website.

Farooq Abdullah thinks Al Baghdadi is his Caliph. He hates even 1%hindus in the valley. He wants to create destruction and rule over Kashmir.
